What Do Shoes Say About You?

I have always been of the opinion that shoes don't say anything about your personality. Take the shoes above for instance. I own them. The reason that I own them? They are interesting. They have really high heels. I needed something to wear with my brown capris. I also own a pair of basic white and blue running shoes, pink converse sneakers, brown high heel loafers, and black ankle wrap stilletos. Also, I have light turquoise cork heels, white eyelet lace sandals, and red flip-flops from Hawaii. The only thing that I think my shoes say about me is that I am short, which has nothing to do with my personality (or does it - maybe that is a topic to explore in another posting).

But of course, I cannot just let a questionable thought ride without doing a little research. (Side note: what did everyone do without the internet?) I came across a quiz that would tell me my "Shoe Personality". Perfect. An answer to the age-old question, if I were a shoe, what type of shoe would I be? Well:

"ash, you're a pointy-toe stiletto/sling back!
The latest fashion magazines are your monthly bible. You love shoes so much that you ran out of room in your closet for shoe boxes, so the oven now doubles as a storage unit. You're always looking sophisticated and polished, even when you have jeans on, and Gwyneth Paltrow and Sarah Jessica Parker are your idols. Every seasonal trend is right up your alley, and most trends work back to things that are already in your closet. Looking great was never so easy!"

I rest my case.

Oh, and by the way: Here is a picture of my favorite heels. I have them in lavender.

  1. Who would have known that we have the same shoe personality. I am a firm believer that the backpack theory is more reliable than the shoe theory. So much more is revealed through backpacks.

  2. So are you saying that Gwyneth and SJP are not your idols??

  3. Albs - I agree. I'll start working on the backpack theory.

Shelli - Let's look at my stylish wardrobe... I have no floor-length gowns or giant pin-on flowers or pink tutus. Pretty sure they are not my idols. Not that there's anything wrong with them :)

  4. perhaps we shall take a trip to Steve & Barry's to change your "tolerance" for SJP to sheer idolship. We MUST get your priorities in order!

  7. Katie, you're a sandal by summer and a clog by fall.
Less is more as far as you're concerned, but you still manage to look beautiful all the time. You don't really care about the latest trends, but you're psyched that all the stores are carrying the latest yoga clothing now. The new, fashionable flat sandals for spring have your name all over them, and you can't wait to start wearing yours. They're functional and comfortable, and best of all they look fabulous. Inner beauty is just as important to you as outer beauty, and it shows in the natural glow you radiate. (is it saying I have a sweet spirit?)

  8. Wow. Katie. I may have to edit my post. I may not be a pointy-toe stiletto/sling back, but you are definately a sandal by summer girl. Yoga and fashionable flat sandals? I will have to contemplate on this...
